Gloriopolis…

Whoso draws nigh to God one step through doubtings dim,
God will advance a mile in blazing light to him
Angelus Silesius

Only to sit and think of God
Oh  What a joy it is!
To think the thought, to breathe the name
Earth has no higher bliss
Frederick Faber

So nigh, so very nigh to God,
I cannot nearer  be
For in the person of His Son
I am as near as He.
So dear, so very dear to God,
More dear I cannot  be
The love wherewith He loves the Son,
Such is His love to  me.
Rees Howells

Who is greedier than a man for whom God is not enough?
Augustine

These four quotations nicely summarize what Gloriopolis is all about:

1) To unashamedly declare the love and glory of God…the God who is magnificent and mysterious, beautiful and bashful, transcendent and trustworthy…the God who is scientist, geometer, artist, poet, lover and friend…the God who weeps for us, runs to us and dies for us…the God who has put the totality of his being into creating, saving and glorifying us…the God who loves us unsearchably and unspeakably.

2) To encourage you in the process. If you’re a disciple of Christ, I hope you find this site an inspiration. If you’re not a disciple of Christ, I hope you’ll consider this site an invitation. In other words, this site is for Christians, seekers, adventurers, poets, skeptics, doubters and desirers. Whoever you are, I honestly hope you’ll stick around so we can become friends!

Although Gloriopolis is the name of the entire site, Paradise Café is the name of my blog. Paradise Café  is the central hub of this site. Every post, article, or notice will always come through the blog first. Most of my posts will be 450-600 words. However, some articles may be several pages long or even a small e-book in size. I will always introduce these longer articles through the blog and then post them in their proper category.

These are the featured categories:

  • Paradise Café — Life, Scripture Meditations ,Spirituality
  • Gloryplex — Creation, Science, Wonder
  • Ministry Tool-Box — Orthodoxy, Orthopraxy, Practicals
  • Bible By Heart — Daily Memory Verse
  • Ask Me Something — Personal, Biblical, Topical
  • Metaphoria — Imagery, Poetry, Art
  • Random Stuff — Mixed Bag, No Category
  • Human (g)Race — Inspiring Stories, Testimonies
  • Star Junkie — ‘The Heaven’s Declare’ Presentation
  • Tom Foolery — Playful, Fun, Silly Things
  • Audio/ Video — Gallery from All Categories

These will be added later:

  • VoyagerTookMyPicture.Com — What were you doing on that day? At that very moment?
  • Café Round Table — Surveys, Chats, Opinion Polls

And just so you’ll know upfront, I’m going to try my best to follow this writing plan:

  • Monday — Paradise Café
  • Tuesday — Gloriplex
  • Wednesday — Ministry Tool-Box
  • Thursday — Metaphoria, Facts and Fun
  • Friday — Something, Anything
  • Daily — Memory Verse

Finally, if you look under Blog Ambitions 2013 you will see some of my blogging syllabus for the coming year.

Love, H

I have lost count of the number of times I have read “Worship the King”. Of all of the “religious” books I have read there is no other book which compares to this book!

I’m in the process of reading Worship the King…. I can hardly get a few lines read when I have to stop and just worship. I am a worshipper. God is always in my thoughts and my daily life. I’m overjoyed with your writing. “Worship springs from an encounter with God” Thank you!
